That’s because we believe passionately in the ‘human factor’, and we will always go out of our way to put you, our patients, above all else. Whether you come to us directly, or your regular dentist refers you, your treatment will be handled with the greatest care, using the latest techniques and equipment to ensure the best outcomes possible.

Pre-Treatment Care

Care every step of the way

Before undergoing any treatment with us, you will receive a full consultation from one of our team of expert Endodontists. At this consultation you have your treatment options carefully explained to you, and you will also be able to ask any questions you may have. Our team members will also then be able to advise you on any preparations you need to make prior to treatment in order to maximise the chances of treatment success.

If you are a nervous or anxious patient, it is a good idea to let our team know before your treatment, as we may be able to make special arrangements to make your treatment even more comfortable. This may include the administration of an anti-anxiety medication immediately before your treatment commences, or alternatively we can arrange for a specialist anaesthetist to attend and give intravenous sedation.

We often advise non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication to be taken prior to dental treatment, and will also administer similar medication immediately prior to treatment in order to reduce post-operative discomfort. We will only give antibiotics pre-treatment for specific medical problems where there is a risk of a spreading infection, or in the presence of bacteraemia.

Post-treatment Care

Care from start to finish

Inevitably, after any invasive treatment, there will be some bruising. This will typically only be very mild, but can become more severe depending on how infected or inflamed your tooth was prior to treatment. Typically we will recommend alternating different types of painkillers to get the maximum benefit of both. We will only prescribe antibiotics if there are real signs of infection such as swelling and fever.

As part of the follow-up to any procedure, we encourage all of our patients to contact us if they are in any way concerned about the treatment or their subsequent recovery.

We normally take follow-up X-Rays after around six months in order to check everything is as it should be. If healing has been in any way delayed, we will arrange to review your situation annually until we are happy and there are good signs of bone regeneration.
